Story away...maybe
The story "Surety" has been submitted to L. Ron Hubbard's Writers of the Future contest. We'll see how that turns out. I'm not sure if it will be entered in the April/May/June quarter or the July/August/September quarter. I sent it on the last day of AMJ, but due to some unforeseen distractions, it may not end up being postmarked on that day. It is yet another mystery waiting to be unraveled.

The Uncryptic Version of Sparrowblade's Post
So three years ago I accidentally cracked my harddrive. It was terrible. I lost alot of stuff. So i sent the shattered thing to my brother-in-law who is somewhat of a computer genius and asked him to see if he could fix it. He said he didn't think he could, but he'd do what he could.
So a couple of weeks ago, I got an IM from him saying "I got the info off your harddrive." It was the shock of my life. Not really, but it's fun to say that. Anyway, it was a great thing, since there were a number of stories and other stuff related to TEC that I thought I'd lost forever. But thanks to my brother-in-law, I didn't

Robes of the Flesh, bad and good
Yesterday I got a rejection letter from Weird Tales (www.weirdtalesmagazine.com) for "Robes of the Flesh." It wasn't the run of the mill rejection, though, and it was actually pretty cool. The letter itself was a pretty standard, form rejection. Thanks for your interest, can't always publish everything, and so on. The new editor, Ann VanderMeer, however, hand-wrote a little note at the bottom. She said, "Some strong writing here. Try me with something else." I take this to mean that she liked my writing, but didn't think the story was a fit. Be sure, I will try her with something else, once I can decide what that should.
So, it's too bad about the rejection, but the note itself was very encouraging. Look for a Corpus story in Weird Tales in the future, and also look for "Robes of the Flesh" to appear, either in another magazine, or as a Web exclusive here on TEC Online.

TEC Online...Online!
On Wednesday, 18 April 2007, the Empyrean Corpus Online (also known as TEC Online) was launched at www.empyreancorpus.com. There are obviously a few bugs in in that need to be resolved, but it is the place for TEC-related fun.

TEC Online...online
Yesterday I purchased the absolutely necessary empyreancorpus.com domain and put up a "Coming Soon..." page. Soon, the site will be up and running and fully functional.
